Cinnamon Rolls

More than two weeks without any post, doesn't sound good, but have been doing this and that its that I haven't got time to update my blog. There was a bit of change in our daily routine and was not getting the time to update my blog but thought will share this quick post with you all :)!!

As the wintery nights are in here and as I told earlier in my previous posts that sets me into baking mode and I love the smell of baking filling up my home, cheers and warms me up, does it do same for you??

So enough of blabbering and here's the recipe coming your way:


1 ½  tsp. instant yeast
1 cup warm milk
¼ cup granulated sugar (powdered)
1/3 cup oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg (room temprature)
3 cups flour

½ cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/3 cup margarine/butter
2 tbsp. flour


Knead the dough with all its ingredients until nice and soft. Put in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 180 C.

Dust some flour on your working surface and roll it out into a rectangular shape, about quarter inch thickness.

To make filling, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.Spread the butter over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the surface. Press down gently with your hand so the sugar sticks to the dough. Then sprinkle 2 tbsp. of flour using a sieve so it’s a light dusting. This will help absorb any extra moisture from the sugar as the rolls are baking.

Working carefully, from the longer side of the rectangle, roll the dough down to the bottom edge, like a swiss roll.

Cut the dough into 1 inch slices, place them close to each other on a greased baking dish.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until light golden brown.

When the rolls are done, serve warm with hot cup of coffee! You can also toppings of your own on top like cream cheese, or chocolate topping.
